About Me
*** Please note - I am not currently accepting new clients to my practice, and will not be for the foreseeable future.***
I am honoured by the privilege of walking alongside people and hearing their stories. My therapeutic presence is warm and informal, and focuses on creating safety for my clients. Much of my practice has been with survivors of sexual and gender-based violence, which I have done for more than eight years - all of my work is trauma informed. I am a participant in a local spiritual community, and thus my practice is spiritually-informed. I am also an adoptee and adoptive parent, so I welcome working with those who've formed families in non-traditional ways.
I began my private practice in 2017, largely because I wanted to support 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals who had experienced harm by religious institutions. Prior to my career as a therapist, I worked as a teacher, an office administrator, and a bookseller. I have traveled extensively and briefly lived in southern Africa.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I have a Master of Arts in Counselling and Spirituality from Saint Paul University. I am a full member of the Canadian Professional Association for Transgender Health (CPATH). I am a Level 1 Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) therapist, and am participating in ongoing AEDP training. Additionally, I am participating in ongoing Disaster Mental Health Counselling.

My Approach to Counselling & Psychotherapy
My approach to therapy is primarily a blend of person-centered therapy and feminist therapy, influenced significantly by AEDP. I endeavour to practice allyship, and to continue to learn how I might increasingly work in an anti-racist, anti-colonial manner. I also do my best to intentionally consider the social, cultural, political and economic factors that may impact mental health and overall wellness. I believe that each of my clients possesses the capacity to grow and change; you are the expert on the subject of you! I affirm and respect the diversity of gender and sexuality. Overall, my approach is gentle, supportive and eclectic in serving the needs of my clients.
